Lauren completed a Master’s in Social work with a clinical focus at the University of British Columbia. Following this, she went on to work in a variety of mental health and addiction settings. This included a residential treatment facility, an outpatient clinic as well a first stage housing.
She specializes in working with individuals with addictions, mental health concerns and/or a combination of both. Also, Lauren provides support and counselling to the loved ones of individuals with addiction concerns.
Lauren works primarily in a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy framework combined with motivational interviewing and dialectical behaviour therapy. She holds the firm belief that all clients are unique, have intrinsic strengths and are capable of change. To sum up, counselling with Lauren is client centered and she works with the client to define what they would like to get out of counselling.
