Hannah Heide

Hannah believes in the power of counselling to empower clients towards reflection, understanding and acceptance of self, building self-esteem and positive self-regard in the process. Her work has been focused primarily on helping adults struggling with issues that arise due to addiction, trauma, and attachment wounds.

She understands how addiction and trauma are intertwined and can affect our bodies, brains, and behaviour. These issues are often due to underlying issues, and can leave someone feeling stuck, hopeless, out of control, and disconnected from themselves and the people around them. Hannah’s passion lies in helping people find inner peace amidst the chaos that these challenges bring, allowing people to reclaim their lives.

Her approach is tailored to these complex needs, rooted in empathy, respect and collaboration. Trauma and addiction often breed disconnection, a lack of trust and struggles in relationships. Due to this, it is her priority to foster an environment where clients feel safe enough to guide her through their past experiences while examining their connection to themselves and others without fear of rejection or criticism.

With attachment at the forefront, she gravitates towards mindfulness-based, acceptance and emotion focused modalities that allow clients to begin feeling present in their own bodies through uncomfortable emotions and work on accepting every part of themselves, cultivating a sense of wholeness and wellbeing. She also provides clients with tools they can use in their day to day to help manage what life throws at them and build emotional resilience, with specialized certifications in both Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and traumatic stress.

Together, you can navigate the complexities of addiction, trauma, and attachment, and pave the way for a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with British Columbia’s Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). My educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology.
