Dave is an Associate Member of both the Canadian and International Society of Addiction Medicine Aligned with the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (ICRC) recognizing International Certification and Credentialing.
Dave earned a Master’s Degree in Health Leadership; his major project was based on a comparison of abstinence-based and harm reduction addiction treatment models. As well, he has worked in the addictions field as an Addiction Counsellor, Interventionist, Group Facilitator, and Clinical Lead. Also, he continues to provide addiction care for the federal, provincial and local governments.

Lauren completed a Master’s in Social work with a clinical focus at the University of British Columbia. Following this, she went on to work in a variety of mental health and addiction settings. This included a residential treatment facility, an outpatient clinic as well a first stage housing.
She specializes in working with individuals with addictions, mental health concerns and/or a combination of both. Also, Lauren provides support and counselling to the loved ones of individuals with addiction concerns.
Lauren works primarily in a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy framework combined with motivational interviewing and dialectical behaviour therapy. She holds the firm belief that all clients are unique, have intrinsic strengths and are capable of change. To sum up, counselling with Lauren is client centred and she works with the client to define what they would like to get out of counselling.

Clayton brings an extensive and rich history of experiences working in and around the addictions recovery field. As well, he is a solid proponent of recovery and carries a pervasive belief that anyone is capable of change no matter what obstacles they may be facing. With this belief in mind, Clayton employs an array of therapeutic skills in his work as a Counsellor and Registered Social Worker specializing in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transtheoretical Model of Change, Biopsychosocial instruments of change, Indigenous Theory, and anti-oppressive practices through client-centred and strengths-based approaches.
With an intimate and personal knowledge of addiction, Clayton has completed his Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from Thompson Rivers University, and an Addictions Careworker Diploma from McMaster University. As well, he is a Canadian Certified Addictions Counsellor (CACC) with the Canadian Addictions Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF), and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Social Workers (BCASW). Most importantly, his proudest accomplishments, however, are his three young daughters.

Karen has extensive community outreach and residential treatment experience working with individuals and families affected by addictions, codependency, violence, trauma, compassion fatigue and mental health related concerns. For the past 15 years, she has specialized in the field of addictions working as a counsellor, group facilitator/trainer, clinical supervisor and mental health & addictions program manager in B.C. and in the Northwest Territories. With an M.Ed in Counselling from the University of Victoria and professional training in a variety of client-centered, trauma-informed and meditative approaches, Karen will respectfully challenge you to move toward your healing/recovery goals with a committed sense of self-responsibility, gentle self-compassion and mindfulness.

I am The Medical Review Doctor for Burns Clinical and a duly qualified physician licensed in the Province of British Columbia. I have a fellowship in Anesthesiology, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with a special interest in Interventional Pain Management and Addiction Medicine. I hold the following positions:
1) Consultant in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA),
(2) Independent Medical Evaluator, Edgewood Health Network and Burns Clinical Life Options,
3) Certified Medical Review Officer,
4) Senior Analyst and Diplomat of the American Board of Disability Analysts.
Jackie LaPointe’s friendly smile and warm presence creates a welcoming environment for clients and family members.
